We are not a foundation company and we are not engineers. We publish local information and pass enquiries to one local contractor.
What we do and do not do
An independent structural engineer's report in Wichita costs $400-900, and because Kansas does not license this trade at state level it is the most valuable check available.
- We publish what we can establish about foundation work in Sedgwick County - unit prices, the local soil mechanism, and what to ask.
- We pass each enquiry to one independent local contractor. Not several.
- We do not perform repairs, and we are not structural engineers. Nothing on this site is an engineering opinion about your house.
- We do not rank or review contractors.
How we make money
A flat monthly fee from the contractor for the enquiries we pass on - not a commission and not a percentage of your job. That matters here more than in most trades: foundation work is sold by the pier, and we have no interest in you buying more piers than you need.
Because Kansas does not license this trade, we would rather you start with an independent structural engineer than with any contractor - including one of ours. That advice costs us money and it is still the right advice.
